Season 15 (2025-26) EPA Auditions

DETAILS
This audition is being coordinated by Local Theater Company (LTC)’s internal casting department. LTC is an Actors’ Equity Association Small Professional Theater based in Boulder, CO dedicated to the discovery, development and production of new American theatrical works (plays, small-cast musicals and devised theater projects). LTC is casting for the Season 15 production of A Case for Black Girls Setting Central Park on Fire by Kori Alston, Bad Books by Sharyn Rothstein, and Local Lab 15.

12: Black, female-identifying, teens to late 20s. A tenacious young woman with a strong facility for language. Note: role requires physical endurance (actor must be able to run for an extended period of time)

Nat Turner: (cast) - The ghost of Nat Turner

Rottweiler: Black, female-identifying, 20s to late 30s. Must have a strong sense of physicality, ability to run for an extended period of time. Must be able to sing.

Alley Fire Woman: Black, female-identifying, 40s-70s. Comic timing. Must be able to sing lead.

Chorus Member: All ages, races, genders. Must be able to sing.

Seeking:

The Librarian /Manager/Editor: female-identifying. Any age over 35. A person who might have lived in a city, or thought she'd live in a city, or did live in a city until life happened. Funny with a side of sly. Smart without question. A woman who loves what she does. Most of the time. (The Librarian's age and the length of time she's worked at the library should be tailored for the actor cast in your production.) THE MANAGER, played by the same actress as The Librarian. A middle manager on her way to the next level. Corporate Material. Compulsively inarticulate, often interrupting herself. Not a word person. Something surprising and almost violent dressed in management training. A woman who loves her job. And her fish. THE EDITOR, played by the same actress as The Librarian and The Manager. Another mother. A different mother. A hugger. A woman who loves a good book. A woman who wants to help.

The Mother: Female-identifying, late 30s - 50s. A Woman Who Cares. Who has lived a surprising amount of life. More layered than she appears, than she's allowed to be, or than she chooses to reveal. Genuinely religious. A woman who loves her children. All of the time.
