Local Theater Company is a nonprofit organization that discovers, develops and produces new American plays. Based in Boulder, Colorado, we bring exceptional, timely stories to the stage. In 2019, we proudly employed more than 120 equity and non-equity artists and designers from around the country. We are an Actor’s Equity Association Small Professional Theater and are deeply committed to diversity and inclusion both on and off stage

We believe that art in general, and theater specifically, is a catalyst for creating a greater understanding of the most challenging questions facing Americans today. Our programs are designed for audiences to explore culturally relevant stories, be stimulated and inspired to action, all while strengthening our creative community. 

Embedded in our productions and programs is a fierce commitment to meeting a play where it is—and finding the people and resources it needs to tell stories that stay with our audiences long after the show ends.
